This is a real course in the Sociology department, but it totally seems like a joke:
SOCI G9080 - Contextualization of Contexts
3 pts. Prerequisites: None. Structure embeds with process and events with networks among observings and signalings, as variously perceived and constituted in levels and extensions. The central issue is contextualizing contexts wherein social is interdigitated with cultural, narrative with situational.

interdigitated?
and this is why i’m getting my MA in planning, and not sociology (or lit crit or philosophy or similar).
ha! I was about to write the same thing except mrs charlieparker wrote it first - thats a word? since when? and what does it mean? and who taught this sociologist that its okay to mangle the english language?
seriously, this description feels a little like someone took my senior highschool english teacher, tied her up, and dumped her headfirst in a dumpster out back kicking and screaming…
Lauren: I’m not sure this is the *reason* I’m in Planning, but it definitely makes me feel good that I am.
And Katerli: you just have to contextualize the context of the sociologist. Then you’ll understand why he’s allowed to write that way.
GO PLANNING! we plannerds must stick together to fight for usefully awesome degrees and practices. i even feel like planning (and urban geog.) phds are more useful. i’m having a really hard time justifying the practice of english literature phds, but this might just be me being a dick?
