I am one of the many Canadian graduate students living in Brooklyn. I grew up in Vancouver, lived in Toronto for a good long while, and now I’m doing a PhD in Urban Planning at Columbia University in the City of New York.

My work is about urban food policy, food justice activism, and citizen interaction with municipal systems. This blog is a bit of respite from my academic work, a record of my attempts to subvert the dominant New York City life through canning/cooking/knitting/gardening/adventuring and general amazement at the Awesomeness of Things. No blase outlook here, folks.

I can be emailed at dory dot kornfeld at gmail dot com.

Here are a few images from the internet copied to the “lovely things” folder on my desktop. I don’t know where they all came from, and I’m sorry if they are yours and I’m not giving you any credit.
